M10: Greek Photo Safari

This is the first day that I was in Greece. I froze. This is the place where the battle of Thermopylae to took place. I am absolutely sure that I'm in the right place.

This is my first stop. The Greek marketplace. There was a caboodle of people there. I stood there, not knowing where to go first, wondering where the instruments were at.

This is a drachma. It is Ancient Greek money. I am not sure how much it's worth, but it must be worth a lot since it is made out of gold. I remember when I bought a sandwich for one drachma.

This is from the battle of Thermopylae A.K.A. the battle of 300. As we fought, I saw that one of the Persians was speckled all over.

This is my shield. I got it for free from a blacksmith, and I used the miniature shield to cut of Xerxes right hand. He looked like a zombie when he was yelling in agony.

This is the golden necklace I got for free for my mother. Waking quietly, I left the the jewelry shop.

This is barley. I got some for my father at the Greek marketplace. The guy who sold it to me had an enormous field of this stuff. The farmer yelled after he sold me the barley from his farm.

As Xerxes yelled, I threw my mini shield at his hand. His screaming was so loud that it echoed through the mountains.

This is what I yelled when the battle of Thermopylae had started. I'll give you a replay.
 " This --- Is --- Spartaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This is all the protection the Greeks had when they were boxing. It isn't much protection but the Greeks enjoyed watching it in the Olympics.

This is modern boxing. You punch your opponent really hard in the face; then you wait for them to fall on the ground.

M9: A Sport From The Olimpycs Is ...

Well, I'm back in Greece and I am in a very important mission. I, have to learn something that the Greeks created and teach it to them. I will teach them a sport called "boxing." Boxing was created by the Greeks on the 8th century B.C.E. Boxing is a sport of hand to hand combat. The Greeks called it pygmachia.  In our modern world, it is still known as boxing. We use gloves full of hard cotton that protects our fist from bruising. Some people even wrap tape around their fist for extra protection. Back in Greece, they wore himantes (leather straps) over their hands and wrist. Boxing was created in the year 500 B.C.E. That means that I have to go back to 501 B.C.E. Well, I have gotten inside the house of the creator of boxing on the year before it was created. Here, I will have to teach them how to play, and teach them the rules of boxing.
" Okay, I will teach you how to play a sport called pygmachia." I told the creator. " It is very simple. All you have to do is get some leather straps, called himantes , and wrap them around your fist and wrist." I continued. " The concept of this sport is really easy. All you have to do is beat up your opponent;then you knock them out." I said.
" How do you knock them out?" asked the creator.
" You punch their face or stomach until they fall and can't stand up any more. Here are the rules.
  • No holds or wrestling
  • Any blow with the hand is legal
  • No gouging with the fingers
  • Nothing on you hand but the leather straps
  • The fight isn't over until someone gives up or someone was incapacitated." I explained.
"Okay. I am absolutely sure I could remember that." said the creator.
"That's great. I have to go now. Maybe I'll see you later." I said. And with those last words, I left to my next destination.

M8: Part 2/2: The Battle Of 300 +1

As I put on my armor, I saw the Spartans and Greek city-states walking down Thermopylae. I ran towards them and yelled out, " You have to leave now, for the Persians know a secret path through the mountains to attack from the front and back!"
" Who are you!!!?" yelled out king Leonidas.
" Lets just say I come from far far away." I answered.
" What's this I heard about the Persians?" asked the king.
" A Greek traitor has showed the Persians a secret path through the mountains. This path way will allow them to attack you from the front and the back at the same time." I answered
" Why do I have to believe a peasant? For all I know, you could be a Persian." said the king in a greedy voice.
" If you don't care about Greece, then do whatever you want. Just don't talk to me when you lose." I yelled at the kings face. After that, the king led his army of soldiers to the mountains. I was secretly following when I heard the Persians coming. I waited for them to do their double attack. When they came out of the mountains, I went into the mountains and yelled out, " THIS, IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Everyone leave but the Spartans!" king Leonidas demanded the Greek city-states.
The battle looked like a caboodle of blood thirsty zombies. I received many arrows in the chest but have given many kills. I looked around and saw king Leonidas lying on the ground with a spear through his heart. I then realized I was the only one left.
" That is what you Spartans deserve, DEATH!!" yelled out Xerxes.
I grabbed my sharp mini shield and flung it at Xerxes. I missed his head but I got his hand. I ran to him and yelled out, " SPARTA WILL STILL LIVE!!!!" I grabbed my mini shield, put it back in its place and stepped on Xerxes' missing hand. " Oops." I said to his face. While Xerxes was yelling from pain, I was heading to my next destination.

M8: Part 1/2: Getting Ready

Well, I'm back from my adventure in Medieval Europe, and I am now back at Ancient Greece. The year is 480 B.C. My boss from the T.T.I.(  Time Travelers Inc.) has sent me on a mission to the battle of Thermopylae. This battle is also known as the battle of 300. In this battle, a Greek traitor led the Persians to a secret pathway through the mountains to attack the Spartans from both ways.( forward and Behind) When king Leonidas found out about the Persians double attack, He ordered the Greek city-states to escape. This was how he ended up with 300 Spartans.  The Persians leader's name was Xerxes, son of the Persian king Darius. The Spartan king was called Leonidas. Xerxes had 180,000 soldiers and Leonidas had 6,000-7,000 soldiers to destroy the Persians.
I think that's enough history for now. Oh! I almost forgot. The T.T.I. has provided me with a secret invisible body shield. They can do anything painful to me, but I can't get killed. Anyway, when I landed in Greece, I was knocked out. I was still tired from my last journey in Medieval Europe.  I awoke and found myself laying on some hard bumpy rocks. I got up and started walking east. There, I found a blacksmith.
" What do you want?" asked the blacksmith
" I was hoping to get a shield." I said
" Well you've found the right man. I've made more armor than anybody else in Greece. I also specialize in weapons." bragged the blacksmith.
" That's nice to know. Anyway, I was hoping you could make me a big shield with a pocket on the back that contains a mini shield. Can you make the mini shield a handle on the top with sharp sword like edges all over the shield except the handle?" I asked
" Sure. It'll take about an hour." answered the blacksmith
" Thanks." I said. As I waited for my shield, I headed to the sea to catch some fish. In a few hours, I headed back to the blacksmith with 80 pounds if fish.
" Hay there my good man!" I yelled at the blacksmith.
" I finished your shield like you asked me. I even added some armor and weapons for you." he said to me.
" This looks AWESOME!!" I yelled out. The armor and shield are made out of bronze and the sword that he gave me was made out of silver.
" So how much do I owe you?" I asked the blacksmith.
" If you try to defeat Persia, I'll give it to you for free." he answered
      " That's what I'm here for." I said in a deep voice.

M7: Medieval Europe

Finally. I am so happy that the T.T.I ( Time Travelers Inc.) had finally given me a day off. I can choose where ever I want to go. I have chosen to go to Medieval Europe.
Medieval Europe occurred  somewhere around 500 A.D.
When I got there, I found myself lying on the ground. A tall man covered in iron had tied my hands together with a rough rope. He had a huge shield made out of bronze. His long sword was so shiny and clean that you could see the air around him.
" Who are you and where are you taking me?" I asked furiously.
" I am the greatest knight that the king has and will ever own. I must take'th you to his castle." said the tall man.
I looked around and see nothing but dried up grass. I looked ahead of me and I found a really tall tower next to a giant mansion looking castle.
As we head to the castle, I find a man and his family hung by some rope near the lake. These are cruel times. The times that a king has the right and power to take your life away from you whenever he wants. When we got in the castle, I saw a giant thrown speckled with diamonds.
" Who have'th you brought today'th for me?" said a man with a low voice. It was the king that was talking.
" I have brought you'th an unworthy peasant for you'th." said the knight.
     " I am not a peasant!" I yelled out. "I am a ..."
" You are the chosen one!" said the king.
" The chosen one?" I asked.
" The chosen one is the only one that could slay'th the dragon and save our village. I could tell you're the chosen one from your face."
" So your telling me that I could save your village?"
" Yes, but thou art must be careful. For'th only thou art can slay'th the dragon by executing its master. The sorcerer."
Just then, the glass broke down and in came the dragon. By the way it looked, I would call it the Draco dragon. The Draco dashed in and released the sorcerer from inside his mouth. The sorcerer used a spell to freeze the king and surround the castle with flames. The Draco released a mouth full of fire and burned the knight. The only thing that was left of him was his sword. I sprinted towards it and grabbed it. Once I grabbed it, a bunch of neon green flames came bursting out of it. I sprinted towards the sorcerer and cut him in half before he could cast a spell on me. Once I cut him, the dragon seemed to faint. I took the opportunity and cut his head of. I looked around and everything seemed to be back to normal. The king was unfrozen and the castle wasn't surrounded by fire anymore.
" Thank'th you my son for saving our village. You truly are the chosen one." said the king.
" Thank you sir but I have to get going." I said. I got up from my knee and in a short time, I had already left for my next destination.

M6: @ The Market Place 2/2: Winning Wine and Free Jewelry

Well now that I have spent 1,000 drachmas on some barley, I better find some cheap wine because there are a lot of expensive stuff that I want to buy for myself. Here we go. As I head down to the winery, I encounter the same guy who sold me the barley. He had just sold the same amount of barley that he gave me to a strange man, but had charged him less. By the way the man looked at the guy who sold me the barley, it seemed like he was the most superior person in Greece. The seller ran away with tears running down his face. I walked in and noticed that the man was bulk and had a burnt face.
" Excuse me sir. But do you happen to have some wine made from fresh grapes?"( They traded with other city-states for wine. Most of their wine was made from grapes.)  I asked with a frightened look on my face.
" Are you talking to me? Cause if you're talking to me, then you've found the right person."  Said the man with a tough tone.
" So how much do you want for it?" I asked with a handful of drachmas in my hand.
" Oh, this isn't for sell." he answered with a bluffing tone. " But if you want it, you have to talk to the manager." He said with a sarcastic sound coming from his voice.
        " Well who's the manager?" I asked
" You're looking at him fella." he answered " If you want it, then you should come back in two hours and enter the Winna Wine contest." He said
"Okay then. See you in two hours." I said. Now I have to get back to the jewelry shop. I have found it and I see two shops. Both of them selling jewelry.
" Do any of you two women have a necklace made from fine gold?" I calmly asked.
" I'll sell you one for 2,000 drachmas. It is has 10,000 karats." The women to the right said
" I'll sell you one that's the same for 1,000 drachmas." the other woman said
        " 900 drachmas!"
        " 800 drachmas!"
        " 700 drachmas!"
        " 600 drachmas!"
        " 500 drac..."
" Will any of you give it to me for free!!!!?" I yelled out interrupting their discussion.
" I will." said the women to the right.
" Okay I'll take it." I said. The women gave me the necklace. As I left, I said, " Pleasure doing business with you."  It has now been two hours so I went down to the winery.
" Here you go son." The guy with the burnt face said handing me two bottles of wine. " The king was so happy from his marriage that he decided to give everybody in Greece two bottles of wine." He explained.
" So you're telling me that everyone is a winner?" I asked in confusion.
        " Yes!" He yelled out.
" Thanks." I said. I headed out the winery. I made the position again and left for my new destination.

M6: @ The Greek marketplace 1/2: The Barley Problem

Well, I have just left Ancient Egypt and have landed in Ancient Greece. My mother wanted me to get her a watch made out of fine gold. My father wanted me to get him some barley ( Barley, is a grain that the Greeks traded with other city-states.)  and wine made from fresh grapes. As I made my way to the jewelry store, I saw a man picking out barley from his farm.
" Hey there my good man, would you mind giving me some of that barley." I asked
              " Sure." He answered.
" Thanks." I said with delight
" Whoa!" he yelled. " Did you think I was going to give it to for free?" He asked with a weird look on his face.
" So how much do you want for it." I asked.
              " 1,000 drachmas."
              " What!!"  I answered
" That's right you heard me." He answered with a tone. " You either pay me, or you don't get anything." He answered. His face started getting redder than the blood in the war. His eyes started twitching. But worst of all, he started grunting. His saliva smelled like moldy cheese.
" I can not believe this." I moaned. " This is an outrage!" I yelled out.
" so you want to pay now or do you want a loan?" He answered with the tone of a business man.
" I'll pay now." I answered harshly. Luckily, the agency that I work for( T.T.I.) has provided me with money for all the regions. They had given me 999,999,999,999 pieces of money for every region or country.
" Here you go." the man answered, giving me the barley in a burlap sack. As I headed towards the jewelry shop, the man had said something a person who rips you of would say.
" Pleasure doing business with you." he yelled out.
" Forget you you you cheap hog!" I didn't really say that ...  I was just thinking it. Well, by the amount of drachmas the guy charged me for the barley, it better be useful for my dad. Now I will head to the winery.
