THE DOME

     After the safari in Florence, I decided to go back longer in time to help Filippo Brunelleschi build the dome in the Florence Cathedral. I want to do this because I really don't have anything else to do, and I want to know what it's like to work at a high elevation. I grabbed a whole bunch of bricks and tools I have stored (don't think I hoard them) and got into my jet and flew back in time.
     I met up with the church official and Filippo Brunelleschi. I asked if I could help them build the dome on the Florence cathedral and they said yes. I took out all my bricks and tools and got as high as I could to help build the dome. We were half way done until we noticed something. How could we support it? We decided to stop building until we found a solution. If we do not finish, there's a possibility of the church becoming bankrupt after they patronized this project. This was a very tough task to complete.
     Filippo and I have been trying to find a way to support the dome. We started to haggle over who's idea would work the best. Of course I know what Filippo's idea was, because I'm from the future. Since I don't want to ruin the future and take his fame, I chose a wrong idea and let him choose the right idea for how he will support the dome.
      This is the day were we test out our ideas. My idea, was that we support it with hay. We got some hay and stacked one brick on it and guess what happened. The hay bent and broke. It was Brunelleschi's turn to try his idea. He said that the dome will support itself. He said that by building two domes, the weight would be supported more. He showed me using eggs. He smashed eggs and proved that the dome of the egg supports itself. We tried this and worked for months. We tried to work fast and hard, because of bad weather that was coming. In months, the dome was done. I thanked Brunelleschi and the church for letting me help them, and then I left back home.
     When I got home, I ate some cereal and thought, I learned something. I learned that I am not a good architect. Why would I support buildings with hay. After thinking, I decided to go and get better at my architect skills, so I can build a house for homeless people that are nice. I sat down on my couch and watched Popeye the Sailor Man until I fell asleep.
